The NHD-CA State Finals will take place in Rocklin, CA (Just north of Sacramento), May 6-8, 2022. Champions from local county competitions are eligible to advance to the NHD-CA competition.

Students and their parents can select from the list of hotels working with NHD-CA to provide special rates for NHD-CA participants.

  • Hotels are 1 - 5 miles from William Jessup University.

  • We recommend calling the hotel directly and not using the online options to check availability.  Most hotels list a person to call.

  • In order to get NHD-CA rates you MUST tell the hotel "I am with National History Day."

Select the "LIST OF HOTELS" link to the right to see the options available.

We have 400 dorm and campus apartment beds on the William Jessup campus that are available for people to stay in.  A special dining plan is included to provide dinner, breakfast, and lunch, and snack for those staying.

  • There are multiple wings and each wing is assigned by gender.

  • Each room sleeps 2 people - there are 7 rooms per wing.

  • All rooms are double occupancy.

  • Cost to stay in the dorm is $75/per person per night double occupancy and includes a meal plan. A few single occupancy rooms are available for $105 per night.

  • Meal plans include dinner, breakfast, and lunch.

  • Bedding, pillows & towels are not provided.

Dorms may be reserved starting on March 25, 2020.  Reservations will be on a first come, first served basis.  To reserve a dorm please click on the "DORM REQUEST" link to the right.

History Day Judges Needed

Evaluating History Day projects is interesting and very rewarding - and it really helps young people develop their skills and abilities.

History Day judges review entries in their preferred category, give students feedback and select which projects advance from the regional to the state and national events. The time commitment can be as little as one four-hour period or the whole day; you can even preview papers, websites, and documentaries at home.

Why should I judge History Day?  Because it is a fantastic way to volunteer your time, connect with students, and learn about history.

  • Community Involvement

  • Volunteer opportunity
