The Shattuck History Day – Resource Fund

The Shattuck History Day Resource Fund is a philanthropic fund that seeks to expand participation in National History Day by addressing financial barriers.  The Fund provides scholarships to help K-12 students develop projects and register for the county contest.


Application Process:

  • Teachers apply for the fund on behalf of their students by completing an application.
  • The application asks teachers to describe why their student(s) need financial assistance.
  • Applications will be reviewed by Dr. Antonio T. Bly, the Shattuck Endowed Chair, Dr. Chloe Burke, Sac State’s History Day Coordinator, and Craig Irish, Coordinator at Sacramento County Office of Education.
  • Teachers will be notified if their application has been approved or not.

About the Shattuck History Day Resource Fund

Named for Peter and Elizabeth Shattuck, the Shattuck History Day Fund is a collaboration between the Shattuck Endowment, the California State University, Sacramento History Department, and National History Day – Sacramento. The Shattuck Endowment honors the memory and legacy of Professor Peter H. Shattuck who had a long and distinguished career in the History Department at Sacramento State.
