Camp History Day
Summer Camp for History Day Teachers
July 16 - 19, 2023 at Sonoma State University
Start the school year with National History Day fully integrated into your curriculum! The redesigned Camp History Day 2.0 offers teachers an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of historical inquiry and History Day projects as they identify and plan for the skills their students need to successfully engage in inquiry, digital citizenship, and media literacy.
Under the leadership of NHD-CA Coordinator Whitney Olson, NHD-CA master teachers, and the Sonoma State Library staff, participants will learn tips, tricks, and strategies as they develop a cohesive plan that aligns with the CA H-SS Framework and prepares students for success with NHD.
At Camp History Day, new and experienced NHD teachers and coordinators will plan for the thorough implementation of NHD into the classroom or educational setting. Learn from others, engage with mentors, and boost your historical inquiry knowledge this summer. Join us on the Sonoma State University Campus in Sonoma County, located in the heart of the redwood empire and wine country. This workshop is open to 25 teachers.
